Introduction to Photoshop Elements 8

Thursdays: November 11 and November 18:
6:30–8:30pm

Professional photographers rave about Adobe Photoshop, but there is an alternative for the rest of the world. Photoshop Elements is a
photo-enhancement and manipulation program designed for those looking for an affordable and easy-to-use, yet powerful, digital imaging program. Elements is built on the same editing engine as Photoshop, but is much easier to learn.

Become familiar with the essential adjustments that can be applied to any digital photograph. Learn how to organize your photos so you don't end up with a "digital shoebox of pictures" that you can't find. Explore white balance, RAW image editing, exposure correction, cropping, red-eye repair, and brightness and shadow detail adjustments. Learn how to remove unwanted elements, modify files, and prepare images for home or photo lab printing.

Participants should bring a laptop computer, AC adapter, and external mouse to class. If you do not own a copy of Photoshop Elements, please download a 30-day trial version before the first class. If you currently have Elements 7 on your computer, you will also benefit from this class. Practice images and comprehensive notes will be handed out at the first class.
